Before the gig
See Vancouver "Before the gig". Back in the same hotel which is a great place to stay (the Claremont). I went to Sit and Spin for a quiet moment. At the gig, Jesse LeDoux made a great poster for the show. The dressing room was worthy of a true 80's band.
The gig
There was a rumour that Eddie Tews said it was the best yet. This is important because he has been to all of them. We missed Carissa sending up balloons asking for "I got the Hots". We did Astronomy Domine and it was good. Devil Mask was too. I tried to sing a bit to fill in for Kim. Then at the end Peter Buck came onstage and played Bells of Rhymney and Queen of Eyes and it was the most surging, jangly, heavy moment on the tour so far. Or so it seemed.
After the gig
Big party at the Crocodile. Kimberley left early because of his voice. We stayed. I remember Morris saying "I shall be disappointed if I do not have a hangover tomorrow" but I do not remember Peter Buck standing on one leg. Michèle took some pictures.

I see The Soft Boys at The Crocodile Cafe in Seattle. The Minus 5 opens with Peter Buck on bass. After the show I'm buying a tee shirt and Peter Buck sticks his head in the merchandise booth. Out of the corner of my eye I see him smile at me, but I just finish the transaction and leave, not even making eye contact.
