Reviews

Excellent performance yesterday by RH, supported by Emma Swift and her guitarists.
He opened with Raymond Chandler Evening, an old favourite of mine, with his new American band joining him onstage during the first couple of numbers, and wound up with Destroy You, Insanely Jealous seamlessly into Waiting for the Man (Lou Reed), See Emily Play (Syd Barrett) and Wind Cries Mary (Jimi Hendrix).
Emma Swift who was the support act - the highlight of whose success was a faultless Visions of Johanna - added harmonies on So You Think You’re In Love and another; Morris Windsor joined on bongos and vocals for the last few songs, which were more or less the same as 40 years ago
(Brenda’s Iron Sledge, Kingdom of Love &c.)
The encore was RH coming out into the audience playing Day in the Life (Lennon-McCartney).
Obviously the new band were first class, but the last time they played Bath Komedia it was Kimberley Rew and his wife Lee Cave-Berry and Morris Windsor, but perhaps that’s just nostalgia?
