Tonight Robyn Hitchcock @ the historic Kessler Theater in Dallas - flabbergasting finger arpeggios, gripping poetry, a 5 octave vocal range, & a mix of both willful stupidity & high brow comedy worth the price of admission. Forever I shall be grateful to Dylanologist Harold Lepidus of Boston, who in 2018 introduced me to this British genius & multi-instrumentalist @ a show in Bedford Falls, motivating me to subsequently catch Robyn in Chicago 4 times, with tonight in Dallas making my 6th Robyn show. Hitchcock has been prolifically writing & recording albums going back to the late 70s with his band The Soft Boys, but his solo career persists to this day. At 72 Robyn still writes, records, & tours constantly, covering various musical genres like folk, psychedelic rock, punk, & new wave, all with his own brand of bizarre insight(s) into human nature. I'm furthermore a huge fan of Robyn's wife, Australian Emma Swift, a brilliant singer songwriter in her own rite. Check out her LPs Blonde On The Tracks & The Resurrection Game.
