A lovely gig in Hertford tonight (Hertfordshire, UK, not Connecticut, USA). What a plush town centre they have, and some great pubs
A very classical setlist choice from Robyn. The opener 'Serpent At the Gates of Wisdom' felt like a fantastic new discovery to me, although I've been listening to it for many years! The stand out song for me was 'Airscape'. One of my favourites which I've only heard live once before. Jessica's vocals fitted in with it very well.
Here are a few lines from some of the typical off the wall, hilarious comments Robyn said which particularly made me laugh:
"Tax can be blown at you and your eyes pinged open by fiends."
"Jack the soundman please make me sound like a 'well produced Lou Reed.'"
"My sister Fleur has copies of my new album on the merch table. It has songs on it, which makes it sound like many other albums do."
"Particles are the bane of show business, that's why Eric Morecambe died."
"We are all slowing down, and in old age we will stare across the room at each other through eye holes cut out of newspapers."
