An excellent session.
At the time it was recorded I was looking after all live music production for 6 Music... sessions, festivals, concerts etc... and this would have been one of mine, although I wasn't there in person. I don't remember why, but I must have had something else very important to do!
In an attempt to get value for money, we used to try to record whatever was required for immediate broadcast plus whatever else we had studio time, artist time and artist patience(!) to get in the can.
It seems that this session was quite a productive one, as there were eight tracks recorded; it wasn't usually that many!

The original broadcast was scheduled in Tom Robinson (who was on Mon-Thu at 7pm back then), and was probably recorded in Maida Vale Studio 3, (although it could have been Studio 4). There's a chance it was recorded in the kitchen at New Broadcasting House, but it doesn't sound like it to me.
The archive records on the location are sketchy... we weren't very good with admin and metadata back then!
