From Robyn on Patreon in 2025 I love John Lennon. His voice makes me feel for him, and so begin to feel for everybody else. Maybe it’s the abandoned child at his core that turns him into such a beacon of sadness, so that hearing him sing opens up all the other emotional doors with it. The Beatles were brothers in all but heredity: Paul, George and Ringo are variations on a theme, but John is the one with the deepest hooks in my heart.
