Reviews

This is a poster of my first Robyn Hitchcock show more than 22 years ago. I remember discovering the internet on my roommate's computer and doing some online research on RH. The tour dates said that he was touring Italy around my birthday.
A couple of weeks later I took the night train from Vienna to Rimini via Bologna right after my birthday party. When I arrived at Rimini the next morning there was a snowstorm and it seemed unlikely that a concert would take place there, because it looked like a ghost town, and nobody would ever visit Rimini in february anyway...Having finally found a hotel and having slept off my hangover I found the venue. I was the first one there and right in time for the soundcheck. Robyn played 'Bells Of Rhymney'. Some guys who ran the club chatted with me and were rather impessed by my journey, so they gave my a t-shirt a concert poster. They even invited me to join them and Robyn for dinner having asked him before if he was okay with it. (They did not ask me if I was okay with them asking him). To cut a long story short : Dinner was nice but a bit strange, mainly because I experienced the real meaning of the word 'self concious', but Robyn was really nice. And the gig was one of the best I have ever attended and he asked me about my favorite song, which he of course included in his set. Thanks again to the guys from the SLEGO club, which unfortunately had to close many years ago. (Eugen H, Facebook 8/7/2021)
