Jessica Lee Morgan opened.

One of the best of Robyn's gigs I've attended. The venue was a largish hall in a 1970's northern working men's club style. There were small tables with candles on for most of the audience. The capacity is 200 and the attendence was approximately 35, so no covid concerns. Robyn tweeted prior to the gig that he last played York with The Soft Boys in 1980 and only 4 people attended! I tweeted him back with a song request and he graciously played it, asking if he should perform it on acoustic or electric!
Between songs Robyn covered many of his favourite topics such as 'Bryan Ferry, his cat Tubby, Fat Freddie's Cat (cartoon, offshoot of the Fabulously Furry Freak Brothers), and the De Havilland Tiger Month'. He made several references to a lost 'black triangle' which I think was a guitar pick. Hilariously Robyn seemed to encapsulate the history of York when he remarked that 'the Romans were sent to make chocolate' I'd be interested to hear from others who attended.
