This LP was the Soft Boys' swan song, the last release while they were still together. Given the odd nature of the album, it may have been put out hastily in fulfillment of a contract with Armageddon, but this is only speculation. As the title states, per a sticker on the cover it appears to have been issued at a bargain price.

Tracks 1-5, "Only the Stones Remain," are 1980 studio recordings from a July session at Pat Collier's Alaska and an undated session at James Morgan. "Where are the Prawns" seems to have an audience and may have been recorded live.
Tracks 6-10, "Lope at the Hive" (a funny way of saying live at the Hope) were recorded live at The Hope & Anchor on March 28, 1980.
Some versions of Two Halves may have been re-recorded and sound quality is questionable.
