Located in the Mecca Entertainment Centre, AKA the New Bristol Centre.
Opened as the Locarno nightclub and changed its name to The Studio from 1983 onwards. Closed on 2nd November 1991 (making Robyn & The Egyptians show there one of the last), together with the snooker club and Mayfair restaurant. After the bingo club was closed in April 1997 part of the building was demolished in late 1997 to make way for student flats.
The ice rink part of the complex would survive until October 2012 and it was subsequently demolished to make more student flats.
Only the cinema part of the New Bristol Centre survives today. The cinema closed in October 1997 and it reopened as a live music venue in 2000. It is now known as the O2 Academy.
