Info from Reading Chronicle Another much-loved club was Majestic in Caversham Road. The club was famous for hosting bands such as The Who and Herman's Hermits. Like Top Rank it was then used as a bingo hall before being brought back to life as a nightclub in the 1980s. Then it was finally closed down in 2002.
