On the 6th June 1980 an advert appeared in the Liverpool Echo announcing that the hallowed cellar formerly known as Eric's would be opening shortly as Brady's. New owners Alan Knipe and Joe Beckett chose the name in memory of a rock fan named Tommy Brady who had died of leukemia the previous February.
