Notes
Info from Nottingham Post article An iconic Nottingham nightspot which launched the UK's dance music scene and once welcomed stars like The Doors, Boy George, and Jimi Hendrix to the heart of Nottingham's historic Lace Market is now unrecognisable as a modern office complex.
The former nightclub site in St Mary's Gate has had a variety of identities since the 1960s, starting as the Beachcomber and Ad-Lib.
Many would know it as The Garage in the late 80s - the first club in the UK to play house music - and the Kool Kat in the 90s before reverting to The Garage once again.
The club was rescued from rising debts by the Lizard Lounge before becoming BZR until its closure in 2015.
