"Note the legendary 'Dutch Mill' in the centre background, now the site of an Aldi car park and just to the left of that the office block of what in the 90s was Oriel Training Services. This was an engineering training 'school' which I attended in '91/92 while I was on the dole - being an Employment Training scheme (in welding), I got an extra £10 a week! I really enjoyed it and amazingly got my ASME IX/ 6G coding! Who had this building (with adjoining workshop/factory space) before? It occupied the area from the roundabout up to about opposite Ferrard Road, with the Ford garage at the back of it (Laidlaw's I think?)."
