Notes
Info from The Crypt Studio website Nestled in a mid-Victorian church, our studio space is soaked in art and social history. Beginning life in 1855 as Park Chapel, it has been home to a school, a library, a social centre and artist studios. At the turn of the 1980s, the space was rented out by Dave Stewart of Eurythmics, having just hit the big time with “Sweet Dreams”. Before, in 1998 while signed to Dave’s publishing company Anxious Music, Ricky Barber took over the space, founding The Crypt Studio.
Twenty-five years later, our stunning Studio One has hosted countless top artists. While still retaining the soul and character of the original space, The Crypt has come a long way: besides being perfectly suited for tracking, overdubbing and writing, it became London’s first studio to offer pioneering immersive formats: Dolby Atmos and 360RA. The Crypt is also an in-demand location for filming.
