Founded by Franco Lucà on April 16, 1988 and managed by him until his untimely death in 2008, FolkClub is entirely directed and managed by Paolo Lucà, Franco's son.
Today, FolkClub has over 55.000 members scattered throughout Italy and Europe. Not counting various festivals and other locations, over more than thirtyfive years of uninterrupted activity FolkClub has proposed more than 1.700 concerts of various musical genres (world, folk, songwriters, acoustic, blues, jazz, experimental) in the Turin space of Via Perrone 3 bis, most of which are of national, international and world importance. It offers an annual season of about 35 concerts (one or two concerts per week from October to May) held in its historical music room. Thanks to the extraordinary artistic caliber of the concerts hosted and to the particular atmosphere of intimacy between the public and musicians that inevitably is created, FolkClub has earned - for public, critics and professionals - the well-known international reputation of one of the best clubs of Europe for live music.
