The first version of this song was released on a flexi disc included with the Man Who Invented Himself vinyl single in 1981. Per liner notes on the Eaten by Her Own Dinner 12", it was recorded in February 1981 at Music Works and remixed in July 1986 at Alaska. Steve Hillage produced another recording of the song in 1982 (with Sara Lee on bass instead of Matthew Seligman) which was used on Groovy Decay and Decoy. The
Hamilton Discography places version 1 on the flexi, version 2 on Groovy Decay and also the CD version of Groovy Decoy, and version 3 (presumably the remix mentioned on the sleeve of the Eaten By Her Own Dinner single) on the Relativity/Glass Fish CD release of Invisible Hitchcock and the aforementioned Midnight Music vinyl single for Eaten By Her Own Dinner (all four of these latter releases from 1986).
Robynsongs also has a page on this song, but does not mention the purported third version, instead counting the two mixes of the first version as the same.
