Paul McCartney wrote "Yesterday", and John Lennon came up with "Rain", stick those titles together and you have another song that’s nothing like either of them, but I trust will make a splash all of its own - somewhere. I recorded it in Nashville with my prime Nashville team: Jeremy Fetzer on guitar, Todd Bolden on Bass, and Eric Slick on drums. There’s fragments of Kimberley Rew in there too, overdubbed in North Wales. It’s track three on my forthcoming LP The Confuser and we’ll be playing it live on my upcoming US tour.

Lyrics

Well you know yourself
Better than I ever could know you
You control yourself
That's what I could never ever do
It wouldn't suit me

Well the beat goes on
Louder than a mustache on a face
Would anybody miss the human race?
I didn't think so

Now the flag comes down
Sharper than the creases in a knife
Carving out the scars from your past life
Oh glory glory!

Well I feel so good
Feel like I have freshly been exhumed
From a naked lunch inside a lilac tomb
It's great to be here

Yesterday's rain
Falls on tomorrow's parade

Well there's no one here
Just a lonely crocodile on skis
Scanning the horizon for debris
If he gets lucky

And I met you once
Sometimes I believe that we've met twice
You'd take anything but my advice
It wouldn't suit you

Yesterday's rain
Falls in tomorrow's champagne
Falls on tomorrow's campaign
Falls on tomorrow's insane

Oh you're fierce
But you're lovely
Oh you're fierce
But you're so lovely

Oh you're fierce
But you're lovely
Oh you're fierce
oh oh oh

Yesterday's rain
