Desire, appetite and lust are signs of life. Dead men eat no sandwiches, nor do the deceased ladies knock back the paella. OK, maybe there *are* some hungry ghosts around; and perhaps there’s a succubus in the æther nearby. Actually, come to think of of it, one of those yearning spirits might have dictated the words of this song to me as I slept.

As ever, earlier this year the lyrics appeared in my handwriting in my notebook. I found myself not long afterwards at a festival, in a room in a French chateau with fantastic natural reverb: so I pulled out my guitar from its case and sang them.

This demo was recorded at Stwdio Penty in Cardiff by Charlie Francis, who also played the bass and percussion on it, and furnished me with this rough mix.
