When performing this song on April 17, 2022 Robyn said it was written about his old school friend Marts - AKA Martin Mayer

From Robyn on Patreon in 2022
An old friend said they were going to attend my recent London show: I wrote this song that morning but didn’t know it well enough yet to play that night. Would they have realised that I was singing to them, if I had played it? Possibly. Would they have liked it? Possibly not. Very few songs that I write are exclusively about one person - mostly they’re about hybrids, as novelists often say their characters are, too. Regardless, the cliches fall around you thick and fast when you try to deal with these kinds of feelings - well, my terrain gets carpeted with them anyway. I like to go jogging on my treadmill to the past at least once a day, to check in with my ghosts: then I can jog back, revitalised, to Ringo and Tubby in our modern compound…

Recorded & mixed by Charlie Francis, who also plays the piano. Guitars & vocal by RH.
