At the end of the evening we quickly strolled to the Grand Hotel to catch the American band Sharp Pins, led by Chicago native Kai Slater. Slater looks like a real rock star and has clearly been raised on 60s jangle pop, which we can really appreciate, especially when he and the band are as skilled and well-played as they are.
By the way, before the concert we get a "warm-up band" that plays four songs, including "Rain" by The Beatles. It's the I Was A King members plus the legend Robyn Hitchcock, who with a twinkle in her eye claims that The Beatles were inspired by Oasis when they wrote "Rain".

A nice first day is over, and we stroll tired and weary up to the train station to get to Stavanger. We're looking forward to Saturday!
