Book event for the release of Robyn's memoir 'Stranded in the Future'.
In conversation with Jim McGuinn (WXPN DJ).
There was a short acoustic set too.

The event was set up at the front of the store adjacent to the entrance. As this was in regular store hours occasionally people would open the door and stop short when they saw what was going on. At one point a bunch of teenagers opened the door; he store owner said “It’s a book signing- you can come in.” Then Robyn said “yeah, you’re not gonna like it“ and the kids left. They were not the demographic, Robyn said.
There was an opportunity to ask questions at the end. As the new book features the early gigs of the Soft Boys, and Robyn has always said they did not fit in with the whole 'Punk' scene, I asked if there were any bands that they played with back in the day that he actually liked. He thought for a bit and then said The Dammed and mentioned how well he got on with Captain Sensible ("we had a lot of the same records" he said). He also said he liked The Only Ones too.
