They discuss his new album 1967: Vacations in the Past (Tiny Ghost Records), a collection of covers from 1967 (with one original song by Robyn, the title track) recorded to accompany his memoir, 1967: How I Got There and Why I Never Left. The album features covers of the Small Faces (Ronnie Lane’s Itchycoo Park), the Kinks, the Move, Procol Harum, Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Syd Barrett/Pink Floyd, and others.
As a young man at Winchester College, the music of 1967 embodied a fast changing world and made him what he is today. The interview took place in the green room of
Sweetwater Music Hall on Sunday, October 6th before his appearance that night with his SF band that includes Kelley Stoltz on sitar, percussion and vocals, Rusty Miller on keyboards, Dr. Pete Straus on guitar, and Emma Swift, vocals.
