I probably dubbed this once or twice for friends. Other than that, I think this is new to circulation.

What can I say about this elixir? I got to see RH with The Egyptians eight times and this is likely my 2nd fave show after the ‘88 tour, but you always romanticize your first.

This is the debut performance for several songs from Perspex Island, a perfect power pop record IMO, especially when you include the b-sides. One in particular, “Watch Your Intelligence” is a personal fave. Interesting to note the lyrics are quite different from the released version, and the performance has enough bile to be practically punk. My band probably performed it more times than they ever did, though never as well, of course.

Side one of the tape ran out fortuitously just after the end of ‘Airscape.’ The opening riff(s) to ‘Intelligence’ didn’t get recorded, but the capture starts before the first verse, so not much was missed.

Dig the altered lyrics in the bridge of ‘Lightbulb Head’!
