The magic and charisma of Robyn Hitchcock walked through Buenos Aires, and we are not speaking poetically but literally. The great English master ended up playing for a handful of people who followed him from a balcony and on the stairs of an office building.
It all started on Friday, at the charming Samsung Studio in San Telmo, when without any divisiveness he appeared among the people minutes before the show, signed autographs and chatted with everyone who approached him. Then she captivated them with the magnetic music of him, just standing on stage with his guitar and at times a harmonica. He strolled through various sections of his solo repertoire and even some pearl of the Soft Boys, ending in encores that included Nick Drake, The Doors and Dylan.
At the end of the recital, again the contact with the few devotees who exhausted the space available in the place, in the middle of the street, signing and talking as one more with all those who approached him. There, in front of little more than thirty people, without an amplifier or microphone, he sang "on request" his own songs and many covers, until the music from the bar began to play and it became impossible for those of us who were there to continue with the ritual. But Robyn didn't finish her night, as he invited everyone to go downstairs so he could sing "A day in the life" from the balcony.
At the end he also came down and walking through May 25 to the rhythm of "Waiting for my man" he finished his tour on the stairs of an office building, before the eyes of the security guards and onlookers who walked past and from some other collective.
