After a show opening for REM in 1989 I was lucky enough to meet Jerry and Bob backstage. I asked Jerry if he'd like to join The Egyptians and me onstage sometime: ‘Oh man, I could walk all over your music,’ he replied. I like to think it was a compliment.”
