Chris recorded Robyn and the Soft Boys' first demos way back when in exchange
for rehearsal facilities. He was in a band with Morris once, called "The Ducks
on the Wall Gang"; and later with Kimberley in The Waves.
Aaron formed "Psi-Com" with Perry Farrell in the early '80s and helped
revive the rock scene in L.A. He's also drummed on albums by Mazzy Star
and Opal; Marc has been in a few bands, plays a mean guitar, and likes turning old
tape recorders into tube amps; John has been playing guitar since 1976, recording onto
4-track since 83, and adds MP3 files of his own songs to his website regularly.

BALLOON MAN - Ross Overbury

Ross Overbury: voice, guitars, cello
Location: Montreal, Canada
Email: overbury@cn.ca
Thanks to: Bayard for 'T and sympathy

Around '95 I made an idle remark to Bayard Catron about doing a
sad Balloon Man, complete with cello and "eerie filtered laughter".
He took that as an offer, and never let me forget it. Not only did I
not own or play cello, after a decade of inactivity I wasn't really a
guitarist either. Credit/blame for rekindling that interest goes to Bayard,
sometime bandmate Andrew Krivanek, and Robyn Hitchcock.

This song is dedicated to the guitar and 4-track that died
creating it.

BRENDA'S IRON SLEDGE (6 string) - Kevin Z. Slick
Recorded at my home in December 1999

MORE CHINESE BOYS - Dead Toe

Dead Toe may well be the only GF-affiliated band made up entirely
of surgeons. The song itself is one Robyn peformed on KCRW-FM, Santa
Monica, April 24th 1989. He very kindly gave permission for us to
include it here, on the condition that if we make lots of money off it
we send him some (we will send him all his royalties in any case).

YOU'VE GOT - The JH3 Experience

The JH3 Experience is John Hedges, who also appeared on the first
Glass Flesh compilation. But we dare not repeat the filthy, scandalous,
and utterly sensational personal secrets hidden within that CD's cover
art. For that, you'll just have to buy Glass Flesh I.

AIRSCAPE - Mark Allen

Mark Allen: voice & guitar
Recorded 1996 in Philadelphia

SURGERY - the Virgineers

Ken Zawacki: vocals, guitars, keyboards
Bruce Lash: bass, drums, canned bees

David P. Dudich: Electric guitar, slide guitar

Appropriately enough, this was the last thing the Number Nine Line
recorded before its dissolution.

Recorded August 9 in the year 1998 at Zen Kerland Studio

ALRIGHT, YEAH - Sir Demon Brown

With the help of Sir Poppyseed I gently captured this recording.
I played the acoustic and sang while Sir Poppyseed played the bass
and 12 string. Hard to find four armed fellows these days. Circa 1995
I believe. For the curious, I also play in band called Elf Power
(www.elfpower.com). Enjoy! Good Day!

GLASS - New Nairobi Trio

SH McCleary: everything
PO Box 6163 Arlington, VA 22206

Recording date -- about two days before you said you absolutely had to have it

AQUARIUM - Marshmallow Coast

Marshmallow Coast is largely the work of Andy Gonzales. You
can find more of his excellent music on kindercore records. The song was
recorded on 4trk in the dead of night in 98' in Jeff's room. Three cheers to
Robyn! (ciao, Andy)
